FAQ
Question: Will Simplywork Charger works for my EV ?
All of our SimplyWork Chargers works for every EVs or Plug-in Hybrids sold in North American (except Tesla, unless otherwise noted) due to the universal technology adoptions.
Question: How many hours does it take to fully charge me EV from empty ?
Hours from empty to full= battery capacity/kWh of the Charger.
E.g., To charge an empty battery of 2016 Nissan Leaf with a 30KW battery using SimplyWrok 16Amp 3.8kWh charger (240V*16Amp=3.8kWh)
30KW/3.8kWh = 8Hrs assuming charging at the peak speed throughout; in reality, it may take 9-10 hours because charging speed will slow down when the battery gets near a full charge or in cold condition.
Question: Do I need an electrician to install the plug-in for me?
We recommend consulting with an electrician before doing any electrical project. In most cases in Canada an electrician is required to do most types of electrical work, this includes installing any time of outlets.
Question: Do I need to use a different breaker fuse if I switch to a 32 amp?
Again it is recommended that you consult with an electrician before doing any electrical project. In electrical fuse boxes the amperage allowance of the fuse is matched to the gauge of the wiring.
For the 32 Amp charger, an electrician would probably recommend at least a 40 Amp fuse/breaker as well as the proper gauge of wiring to be used for 40 Amp circuits.
